Dual quad-core Xeons for 8 cores, with high speed front side bus, but the 3Gb effective RAM limit in 32-bit Windows XP is holding the machine back. Probably should upgrade to 64-bit Vista and double the installed memory to 8 gig for better performance. But despite being hobbled by RAM it screams through renders, even with four channels of HD. Every little bit helps. Posted on 12/16/2008 by Stephen Knapp

Two Quad Cores here.
Posted on 9/24/2008 by Ross Brewer, Well-Brewed Media Prod, LLC
I bought a computer! Wow! With two processors! But then I heard the quad with the four cores and I was like "this is it", so I got rid of the dual core and got the quad. I'm listening to this thing and I'm like "Hey this sounds like crap!" So, I got rid of that and got the dodecaphonic with the 12 cores. This was more to my liking...for a while. But the year gets pretty sophisticated pretty fast and I got rid of that and got the milliphonic with the 1,000 cores. And I'm listening to that one and I'm like, "Hey, this sounds like crap too! The other one was crap one, this one is crap two!" So, I traded that in and got the googlephonic, which is the highest number of cores you can have before infinity. Sounds like crap! So, then I said, "Hey, maybe it's the needle!" I had the typical diamond needle. I searched around got the moonrock needle, cost me 3 million bucks, but what the hey. So, now I have a googlephonic stereo with a moonrock needle. Posted on 9/24/2008 by Chris Davis, Famous Davis Productions

I guess if I had an Apple, I'd have an apple core...but I don't. My video computer is an old HP laptop that is over 5 years old and was a hand-me-down from a neighbor. So old I can't find memory for it and am stuck at 512. But 17" widescreen, firewire, Harmon Karden speakers and a docking stand that raises the screen to the same height as an external monitor with a ton of extra USB ports for my HDD's along with other ports in it just could not be passed up. :) And I can switch keyboards anytime I want...one has Vegas shortcut stickers on it, the other has Photoshop stickers on it. Yeah, I can never remember the keyboard commands... *duh* Posted on 9/22/2008 by Crystal Eikanger

Mac Pro Dual quad core 2.8 xeons with 6 gigs of RAM. Just think...Bill Gates once said " No one will ever need more than 256 kb of RAM and in the 1960's a 128 Khz computer took up a city block. Today we wouldn't even think about a computer of that speed for anything more mundane than powering a watch or a coffee pot.
